Kingsbrook Animal Hospital is looking to add a doctor to its growing, 7 doctor, 10 licensed technician, small animal plus 10% exotic, AAHA hospital in Frederick, MD.
Kingsbrook Animal Hospital has cool equipment, practices great medicine and surgery, has excellent relations with area veterinary specialists as well as a successful mentoring program. What really sets us apart is our people. Our staff members are very involved in our success and are what makes our hospital different than most. Check out our Google and Yelp Reviews--they are all about our people. If you haven't looked at our website, be sure to watch our video and hear what our clients say about our people. Kingsbrook Animal Hospital is very involved in improving our community. Our website has information on our Vet Academy for school students, our benevolent fund called the Kylie and Cricket Memorial Fund, our Haunted Hospital, etc. We consider ourselves very good mentors. We have established a successful program to help new graduates polish their skills and develop the confidence needed to become excellent veterinarians.
No emergency duty. We are located close to and have good relationships with many specialists and referral centers. Many other benefits including Health, Life and Disability Insurance; 401 K Retirement Plan; Continuing Education, Licensing, and Memberships/Dues. Base salary starts at $90,000. All of our associates, including our new grad from June of 2017, are paid on production and make more than their base.
We are original members of the Well Managed Practice Groups with Denise Tumblin and Cynthia Wutchiett of WTA Veterinary Consultants. This has helped us be better at running a business and we look forward to sharing what we know with our associate veterinarians, so they don’t have to make the same mistakes we did! In addition to attending national meetings, we conduct extensive in-hospital educational programs for our full staff. For example: Dr. Jane Shaw, Associate Professor of Veterinary Communication of Colorado State University and an expert in veterinarian-client-patient interactions visits our hospital quarterly to develop our staff’s communication skills. Dr. Cindy Charlier AVDC, of Veterinary Dental Education regularly visits our hospital to further develop our dentistry skills. You must have a sense of humor--or at least a good smile! And must be able to say "Good Morning" and mean it. It doesn’t hurt if you are smart as well! Experience or interest being mentored in the care of exotic pets is a bonus.
We are only 45 minutes from Washington DC and an easy drive to the beach or the mountains. Frederick has a cool downtown with unique shops and trendy restaurants (for example: Volt and The Tasting Room) as well as classics (The Dutch’s Daughter--best crab cakes anywhere!).
References are available from the specialists to whom we refer as well as our current “new” grads and staff.
