The Animal Birth Control Clinic of Pet Refuge, located in South Bend, Indiana is seeking an associate veterinarian to operate in their high quality, high volume, spay neuter clinic and our adjacent no-kill animal shelter, Pet Refuge. The ABC Clinic is dedicated to providing affordable services to dogs and cats of the Michiana area, serving individually-owned animals as well as nearly all locally-recognized rescue organizations, feral cat groups, and shelters for their spay/neuter needs. We operate under a strict set of surgical guidelines for spay and neuter surgery designated by ASPCA's Humane Alliance.
Daily assignments will be split between the spay/neuter clinic and the adjacent shelter, providing medical care for adoptable dogs and cats. Ultimately, after training and mentorship, we expect our doctors to be able to comfortably perform 30-35 surgeries per day when at the spay/neuter clinic. Duties at the shelter will include basic medical examinations, creating therapeutic plans, imaging and dentistry. We see a wide variety of concerns at the shelter ranging from acute injuries or illnesses to complex internal medicine cases and have a large amount of resources dedicated to providing the animals with the gold standard medical care. The clinic is open Monday through Friday only and the applicant will be expected to work an average of 4-5 days per week alongside two other veterinarians.

About ABC Clinic of Pet Refuge
The Pet Refuge ABC Clinic opened in 2011. Since 2011, we have completed over 70,000 spay or neuter surgeries! We are the only low cost, high volume, high quality spay neuter clinic in the Michiana area. The Pet Refuge ABC clinic is a 501 c 3 organization that opened in hopes to decrease the number of unwanted dogs and cats in the Michiana area.
Originally, the Pet Refuge ABC Clinic was located in Granger. The clinic operated there for three years. The clinic relocated in October of 2014 to South Bend. The clinic now has an additional 1,000 square feet which was much needed with the large demand for low cost spay and neutering in the Michiana area.
The Pet Refuge ABC Clinic works closely with many open admissions shelters, rescue groups, and feral cat groups. The clinic works with these organizations in order to complete our mission and decrease the overwhelming number of unwanted animals. The Pet Refuge ABC Clinic is a highly effective nonprofit organization dedicated to ending pet over-population and offering a service to the Michiana area residents.
