The Animal Defense League of Texas (ADL) is San Antonio’s oldest nonprofit companion animal shelter. We are seeking an energetic, Texas-licensed DVM to join our team as a second full time shelter veterinarian. ADL is a busy shelter with a diverse surgical caseload, high volume s/n clinic, and shelter medicine/herd health evaluation and treatment. This position provides leadership and direction to shelter staff; coordinates and implements the shelter medical operations and ensures sound and humane veterinary medical practices, in accordance with the Texas Veterinary Board. The ADL hospital is well-equipped with digital x-ray, doeppler, bair huggers, tono pen, fluid pumps and In house lab (blood analyzers, centrifuge, and microscopes).

Doctor of Veterinary Medicinegraduate from a college or university accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association; licensed or the ability to procure a license to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Texas with a current DEA license. New graduates will be considered.
