Grace Veterinary Clinic is currently in its 11th year as a small animal practice. Our clinic has proven growth rates year-after-year and we are still growing! We are seeking a Full-Time Veterinarian to join our team.
Here’s a little bit more about our clinic and our level of community involvement.
GVC has been nominated by our community as a finalist in the Springfield Metro “Best Of” for the Illinois Times as Veterinary Clinic of the Year, and our most recent win was in 2017. We also won the Chatham Chamber of Commerce award in 2018 for Best Local Business.
Grace Vet Clinic works extensively with three local animal rescue organizations, of which we sponsor 1 pet a month and donate all diagnostic services, surgeries, medications, etc. to each of these groups.
Our clients have come to know our clinic as one that meets its clients where they are, as we take pride in tailoring every treatment plan according to the needs of our clients and patients. Thus, we have an excellent reputation for honesty, integrity, customer service and great veterinary care.
Our staff is known for having an excellent, productive, and respectful working environment. As negative attitudes, gossiping, and/or any toxic personalities in general are not tolerated.
We pride ourselves on hard work and helping each other out throughout the day. We have a great team, everyone’s personalities mesh well, and we trust in each other’s skill sets. We actively engaged in what we refer to as “team huddles” every day in order to make certain that all staff is on the same page with our heavy case load throughout the day.
As a business owner, it is important to me that I include my staff in virtually every decision I make; so that every angle is covered. My management team has been empowered to make decisions throughout the day in order to ultimately free up the DVMs to focus on their cases and be DVMs.
Our Clinic & DVM’s Schedule and Benefits
We are open Monday through Friday from 7:30am-6:00pm and on Saturdays from 8:00am-12:00pm and closed on Sundays and all Major Holidays. We perform surgeries Tuesday through Friday in the mornings and see appointments throughout the day. We also work in emergencies cases as needed and are accepting new clients daily. Additionally, we offer Drop-Off appointments and House Calls to our clients.
Our DVM’s example schedule (rotating bi-weekly: 3-day weekends):

Week 2: (Seeing Appointments Only w/1-hour lunch) Average Hours Worked: 36

GVC is offering a very generous signing bonus AND a relocation bonus to qualified candidates. Starting Salary range is: $70-87k per year plus production pay. Production pay is as follows and will be paid out quarterly:
5% on all Rx Diets
15% on all Drugs
19% on all Services
To give you an idea on production rates, our clinic generated a total of $1.65M in collected revenue in 2018 and that was with our clinic operating with only 1 DVM for the majority of the year. This speaks to the level of productivity that can potentially be made. We are able to achieve these figures by leveraging and utilizing our staff to the highest extent. Our lay staff is utilized to the max, as they are responsible for the collection of all lab samples, perform regular and dental radiographs, dental cleanings, capture ultrasound images (of which all are interpreted by a board-certified radiologist at Oncura Partners), anesthetize and prep all surgery cases, as well as recovering all patients; formulate and present all treatment plans to clients, drug calculations, etc. Thus, your potential for increased revenue based on production, is very good-especially since we are currently booking approximately 2 weeks in advance consistently.
DVM benefits included a scrub allowance, Paid DEA, State and National Licenses; Paid dues to AVMA, ISVMA; Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance, Employer Matched Retirement Fund, 2 weeks PTO (with the potential of earning more PTO based on longevity, and a CE allowance.
Lastly, I must inform you that I have been in practice for almost 30 years and have a vast understanding on what it takes to run a successful and thriving practice year after year. I have worked full-time at 3-day time practices, 2 Emergency Clinics, provided relief work for several other practices, as well as served as the practice manager at 2 other clinics. Thus, I have seen a lot; I’ve seen what works and what does not. And, I vowed that if I ever had my own practice, I would utilize all of that experience to put together a great practice. No practice is perfect and this industry is very demanding but given we spend the best hours of our day with each other, and not our families, we strive to make Grace Vet Clinic a positive work environment and have found a “Second Family” here among each other.
If you think that you’d be a good fit for our practice, please contact me, Gary Minder by phone at 217-697-8231 or by e-mail at: email@example.com. As the only vet at our practice please know that I may not be easily accessible and ask that you also reach out to our Practice Manager, Christina Yoc, at 217-697-8231 or via e-mail at: ChristinaGVC@gmail.com
We look forward to welcoming and working with the right candidate!
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
