Companion Animal Hospital Wicker Park, located in Chicago, IL is looking for a Medical Director to join our team. We are offering up to $50K signing bonus for this position.

MVP is seeking an ambitious and team-oriented veterinarian (preferably at least 3-5 years out of school) with an interest in surgery and dentistry to lead Companion Animal Hospital Wicker Park as its Medical Director. This is the perfect opportunity for a veterinarian who is passionate about surgery but also interested in either leading their own practice or transitioning into a non-clinical role with endless leadership opportunity.

In this role, the Medical Director will provide a variety of animal healthcare duties in the hospital, as well as management, mentorship, and career development for veterinarian staff. Moreover, this individual will ensure the regulatory compliance of the animal hospital as well as develop, approve, and maintain veterinary standards of care for all patients. The Medical Director is also responsible for ensuring an environment of positive teamwork within hospital staff. Active and productive collaboration between staff members is critical to the success of this position!

About our clinic: Companion Animal Hospital Wicker Park is a full-service small animal hospital, offering the best in medical and surgical care. We opened in July 2019 and our facility and equipment are all brand new. We are fully equipped with in house lab machines, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, and electronic medical records. Our support staff are incredible and we utilize them to the fullest. Our technicians are proficient in radiography (including dental rads!), blood draws, cystocentesis, placing IV catheters, monitoring during surgery, assisting in exam rooms, and reading cytologies, all while maintaining a low stress environment for each patient. Schedule: Flexible (20 hours clinic / 10-20 hours managerial), 2-3 clinical days in association with hospital needs.

Ideal qualifications:

• Illinois Veterinary License – active and in good standing
• Previous Medical Director and leadership experience preferred, but not required 
• Experience in surgery and dentistry
