Sturgis Veterinary Hospital and Equine Center is searching for a Mixed Animal Veterinarian to see both equine and small animal patients. We have an up to date facility that primarily provides service to haul-in patients in our Equine Center. We have multiple exam rooms, an internal medicine wing for ultrasound, 2 ICU stalls with O2 and cameras, a dedicated surgery wing with an induction room, surgery suite, and 2 recovery rooms, isolation room, 10 hospital stalls, 15 repro stalls, and a round pen for lameness patients.
Our current staff is comprised of three experienced DVM's, including a board-certified equine surgeon and the opportunity to experience many specialized cases. The practice provides services including laparoscopy, arthroscopy, medicine with an extensive IDEXX in house lab, digital radiology, ultrasound and endoscopy, reproduction services along with many other services available with our state of the art equipment. We are open to mentorship and would love to provide experience to passionate new graduate.
Sturgis was established in 1952 as a mixed animal practice. The practice has grown to service an extensive five state area through the years, due to our clinic's history of striving to always embrace the many advances in medicine and surgery. We offer general small animal and equine medicine and surgery in a relaxed beautiful setting in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The Black Hills area provides a beautiful tranquil setting to live and work without the large metropolitan high stress lifestyle. The area boasts fishing, skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, motorcycle touring, hunting, rodeo, historical site seeing along with many other opportunities. Rapid City is 25 miles away and within easy driving distance for large city needs and the historical town of Deadwood SD is a fun and entertaining get away just 12 miles to the west.
