ECC Residency Program-MedVet Columbus
Looking for an ECC residency program with a robust critical care caseload and the right balance of in-depth “super-nerdy” didactics? Are you seeking mentors with a passion for teaching and an updated perspective on residency education-clinical work-life balance? If so, we have the ECC residency program you’ve been looking for!
Our program finds strength in our well-developed 3-year comprehensive ECC topic rounds designed to adequately prepare you for your ACVECC board exam. These rigorous didactics are paired with a specialty private practice clinical experience that will ensure you are ready for a successful career as a future criticalist. Our ECC program is directly supported by two incredibly enthusiastic DACVECC clinician-educators who are committed to helping you reach your full potential through one-on-one mentorship. We have all the bells and whistles of referral level practice and are always expanding! We will spare you the graphs and numbers (we would prefer you come see for yourself!) but want you to know we see plenty of critically ill patients, we have a diverse ER caseload, and our large team of fellow specialists generate a tremendous number of cases that keep us and our ICU team on their toes! An ECC residency is all about getting an opportunity to manage the right caseload and our proactive approach to HIFLOW and mechanical ventilation, and our expanding apheresis capabilities will ensure your training will incorporate these techniques on a regular basis, along with many other critical patient care management modalities. Here at MedVet Columbus, we are fortunate enough to have a wonderful community of pet owners that are invested in their beloved pet’s medical care and are seeking innovative, high-level specialty care.
MedVet Columbus (Worthington) is part of the MedVet family of hospitals and is one of 35 veterinarian-owned and led urgent care, emergency, and multi-specialty hospitals located across 17 states. Dedication to our mission and core values of Teamwork, Leadership, and Compassion are the priorities of our organization. We strive to create an exceptional experience for patients, clients, referral partners and each other!?
We are fortunate to have a highly collaborative team of specialists, house officers and emergency clinicians that are excited to support and mentor future ECC residents including specialists in the following disciplines: anesthesiology (2), cardiology (3), dermatology (2), diagnostic imaging (2), internal medicine (3), neurology (2), ophthalmology (1), oncology-medical (2), oncology-radiation (1), rehabilitation (2), and surgery (5). We also have an additional support team dedicated to promoting resident research efforts and ensuring you have all of the necessary resources to complete your residency research projects such that you can submit an ECC residency publication to meet your credentialing requirements.
