Mission Veterinary Partners is looking to add a Regional Medical Ambassador to the team! This position would be covering Wisconsin, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma.
Job Summary:
The Regional Medical Ambassador maintains an understanding of the DVM recruiting needs within the region and works closely with Talent Acquisition in recruiting needed talent. They ensure there is effective development of the DVM talent occurring within the regional hospitals through mentoring, coaching and professional development opportunities. The Regional Medical Ambassador further helps hospitals develop practices that ensure the high retention of its DVM talent. Regional Medical Ambassador maintains strong working relationships with veterinary colleges and universities, has an expansive network within this community, and is effective at representing MVP’s culture and philosophy to teaching doctors and their students. The Regional Medical Ambassador supports externships, helping ensure externs have a positive experience. The Regional Medical Ambassador is a key member of the Regional team, supporting Regional Directors and Hospital Directors when medical issues arise that need his/her expertise. They ensure that regrettable doctor turnover is low in their hospitals by supporting the Regional Directors with stay interviews. The Regional Medical Ambassador reports to the Vice President of Regional Medical Ambassadors,
Travel required: Frequent 50-75%
Essential Functions:

Maintains a strong working relationship with veterinary colleges/universities.
Acts as an ambassador for MVP’s brand in connection with veterinary colleges and universities.
Recognizes hospital resource needs in the region and sets recruitment plans to meet these needs.
Works with hospital leadership to anticipate recruiting needs.
Partners with Talent Acquisition to ensure there is a robust talent pipeline.
Assists the DVM Talent Acquisition team by working the collegiate VBMA and SCAVMA to ensure MVP is well represented and viewed as Employer of Choice among the students in these associations.
Collaborates with the MVP recruitment team in sourcing experienced DVM candidates into hospitals
Ensures maximum success of the MVP referral program.
Serves as a hospital representative to ensure DVM candidate experiences are first rate.
Works with Externship department in placement, engagement and in overall extern experience; ensures the experience is commensurate with the MVP Way.
Ensures a culture of recruitment, mentorship and leadership development exists at the practice level within the hospitals.
Helps to identify DVM candidates for clinical mentors within local hospitals.
Ensures clinical mentors have the resources and tools to do their jobs with mentees.
Helps identify DVM candidates for participation in LDP and MLG programs.
Shares practices to help hospitals maintain high rates of DVM retention.
Works with the Regional Director and Hospital Director to develop effective mentoring and retention strategies.
Performs specific medical tasks and develops hospital capabilities based on Vice President requests when needed.
Supports the Regional Director and Hospital Director in addressing medical capability issues in the hospital.
Additional Functions:
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Veterinarian; minimum of 4 years' practical clinical experience in small animal medicine.
Demonstrated track record of working with veterinary colleges/universities.
Able to develop a network and strong relationships with veterinary colleagues.
Ability to train, coach and mentor DVMs; able to develop training, coaching and mentoring capabilities in others.
Strong veterinary medical skills.
Strong recruiting skills.
History of low doctor turnover and strong retention skills
Effective at working with hospitals, understanding their needs, and developing appropriate recruiting and development strategies.
Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint required.
Must be able to exchange accurate information throughout all levels of the organization and/or with all clients and team members.
Required Education and Experience:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine; minimum of 4 years' practical clinical experience in small animal medicine.
