We are seeking a third companion animal veterinarian to enable us to shorten wait times for clients during our busy walk-in hours and for surgery appointments. This will also improve our ability to take the time needed with patients, as well as take some time off work ourselves. We hope this would be a career position for whoever might join us. We strive to provide personal, practical, convenient, and affordable basic veterinary services. Even though we tend toward a high-volume, low-cost style of general practice, we cherish our relationships with our clients, who are often our friends and neighbors. When we are busy, we work hard and fast to help them. When we are slower, we chat and shoot the breeze with them. We are all flexible and whoever is available will clean a cage, answer a phone, restrain for a nail trim, or cover a fellow employee's shift when something unexpected comes up. We are not overly formal, but traditional and professional while casual. An additional veterinarian will help us maintain the ability to provide practical veterinary services that our clients can afford while still getting the experience and relationship of having a "family doctor."
Veterinary license in Ohio. Physical ability to lift, restrain, and have typical veterinary interactions with companion animal patients. (We have two new lift tables, but another associate will help provide the time for us to upgrade facilities and install the tables). The owner is willing to adjust his work schedule to accommodate the needs of his associates, so the schedule is negotiable. Mondays and Fridays at a minimum would be a part of the usual schedule as these are the busiest days, also allowing the doctors to rotate taking long weekends off work when desired.
Flinn Veterinary Clinic in Sidney, OH has been serving Shelby County and the surrounding area for over fifty years. We are an indepently owned general small animal practice. Both veterinarians are Sidney natives. Dr. Greg Schmiesing has owned the practice since 2010 after working five years at Maria Stein Animal Clinic, and Dr. Mychal Taubken came to work here upon graduation five years ago after years of job shadowing and working with us. Our small, hardworking staff have all been here for many years (ranging from 10-30+). We are a very busy walk-in practice that strives to be personal, practical and affordable. A new clinic building and additional veterinarian are the next steps in helping us to better serve our clients and their pets.
