As an equine surgery technician, you will assist equine surgeons with a variety of surgeries at the hospital, including colic surgery, arthroscopy, fracture repair, and standing surgeries, including laparoscopy. Additional responsibilities include maintaining surgical equipment, tools, and packs. You will assist in the care of hospitalized patients including performing physical exams, preparing and administering medications, passing nasogastric tubes, placing catheters, administering fluids, and assisting with diagnostic procedures including nuclear scintigraphy.
