Community Veterinary Clinic is seeking an associate veterinarian to join our family-owned practice in Dayton, Ohio. Whether you're a new graduate finding your footing or an experienced DVM looking for a supportive environment, we're committed to helping you grow into the veterinarian you aspire to be. For over 30 years, we've been caring for our community across 5 locations—and we've built our reputation not just on excellent patient care, but on developing exceptional veterinarians.
Our Commitment to Your Professional Development
We understand that the transition from veterinary school to practice can be challenging. That's why we've designed a comprehensive mentorship program specifically for newer associates:
Structured Mentorship Program: You'll be paired with a dedicated senior veterinarian who will provide guidance, answer questions, and help you navigate complex cases.
Gradual Case Complexity Building: We won't throw you into the deep end. Your caseload will start with straightforward appointments and gradually increase in complexity as you build confidence and competence.
Real-Time Support: Never feel alone in an exam room. Senior doctors are always available for consultations, case discussions, or to step in and assist when you need a second opinion.
Weekly Case Review Sessions: Join collaborative learning sessions where we discuss interesting cases, share diagnostic approaches, and learn from each other in a supportive, non-judgmental environment.
Protected Learning Time: Your schedule includes built-in time for case research, continuing education, and skill development—not just back-to-back appointments.
Hands-On Skill Development: Want to improve your dentistry skills? Master ultrasound? Build confidence in soft tissue surgery? We'll work with you to create opportunities for hands-on learning with experienced mentors guiding you.
A Supportive Practice Environment
You'll have access to top-notch equipment, modern facilities, and a team of experts who genuinely want to see you succeed. We maintain high standards of care with a well-organized workflow, so you can focus on developing your clinical skills rather than fighting disorganized systems.
Most importantly, you'll have the autonomy to practice medicine based on the unique needs of each patient and owner—with the safety net of experienced colleagues who've got your back. We believe in building confidence through supported independence, not sink-or-swim pressure.
Work-Life Balance for Sustainable Careers
We know that burnout is real, especially for newer veterinarians. That's why we're committed to sustainable scheduling:
Flexible scheduling that works for your life—full-time doctors typically work 30-40 hours per week
Appointment schedules designed so you can actually "go home on time"
NO surgery required—focus on building your medical skills without the pressure of surgical caseloads
Company car with gas and insurance included—one less thing to worry about
Compensation & Benefits
We believe in investing in our doctors:
Production-elevated compensation of $200,000 plus
4% company-funded 401(k) Retirement Plan
Health, Dental, Vision & Life insurance
Employee discount
Paid time off, Parental leave, Flexible scheduling
Generous tuition reimbursement and professional development assistance—we want you to keep learning and growing
