Conduct thorough examinations of large animals to assess health status and diagnose medical conditions using veterinary terminology and clinical skills.
Perform complex procedures such as animal restraint, catheterization, and aseptic techniques to ensure safe and effective treatments.
Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each animal’s needs, including surgery, medication administration, and critical care interventions.
Assist with laboratory testing and interpret results to inform diagnosis and treatment strategies.
Handle diverse animal species with expertise in animal physiology, anatomy knowledge, and husbandry practices to ensure optimal care.
Educate pet owners and livestock handlers on proper animal care, grooming, nutrition, and disease prevention techniques.
Maintain precise medical records, document procedures accurately, and communicate effectively with team members regarding patient progress.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols related to animal handling, restraint techniques, and laboratory procedures to promote a secure working environment.
Town and Country Animal Services is a mixed large animal veterinarian practice in Central Kentucky. We provide veterinary care to more than 1,800 clients and their livestock operations. Our practice responds to approximately 8,000 service calls annually, including emergency and urgent medical situations involving cattle, horses, and other large animals. Approximately 60% of our work is in Equine Reproduction.
